Yunus Interviews for the Next Chief Executive at Tameside Local Authority

Tameside Local Authority Young People’s Interview Panel, Tuesday 10th June 2025.

Yunus very kindly agreed to take part in a young people’s interview panel on Tuesday 10th June 2025, from 10.15am – 4.00pm.

Feedback:

Throughout the process Yunus conducted himself with a mature manner, he was extremely polite and attentive to others. Yunus met three young people, four members of staff and several candidates. Yunus engaged positively with everyone, he initiated conversation and was talkative whilst holding eye contact.

During the interviews Yunus asked candidates one question, he spoke well and didn’t rush and was able to pick out key elements of the candidate’s answers and record bullet point notes, whilst concentrating and listening effectively. A debrief took place after each candidate whereby panel members shared their scores and gave feedback about how the candidate performed, Yunus appeared comfortable in doing this and gave a clear summary of his views.

There was an occasion where Yunus asked a candidate if they wished to expand on their answer as he felt the answer was brief, which other young people had not done, this showed Yunus using his initiative and being confident to do so.

Yunus did an amazing job, he was confident, polite and engaging and fully took part in the whole process. Yunus has expressed that he would like to take part in future young people interview panels, he was a valuable member of the group, and he has the skills to do so. It was an absolute pleasure to meet Yunus and work with him, he is such a lovely young man, his kind manner shone through. Being an active member of the panel is such an achievement and Yunus truly did a fantastic job, of which he should be proud of himself. I wish him every success for the future.
