Photography Trip to Alexandra Park

Digi photography group 3 visited Alexander Park on Friday morning, this was the first time this group had the opportunity to take photographs on location. Our young photographers had a fantastic time capturing images which will be included in an exhibition later in the year.

The Day In The Life

Hi my name is Jawad, and I have just started my new placement at the Molino Lounge. I am currently on my third week there, I work with my peer Shannon along side my Job Coach Sophie.

I have a daily routine on placement by firstly washing my hands.

I then prepare all the tables for the customers by cleaning them, replenishing the sugars and checking that there’s enough salt and pepper in the jars. I then place a new menu down ready for the customer.

Throughout the morning at the Molino Lounge I ask customers if they are Finished with there food, I them remove their plates and place them at the back of house ready to be put through the dishwasher.

I also clear away empty glasses and cups and place them into the dishwasher at the front of house, Sophie guides me so I don’t spill or break anything.

I am becoming more confident when greeting new customers through the door by saying “Hello table for 2?” “Any allergies?” “Do you need a vegan or gluten free menu?” “Take a seat anywhere, order at the bar or on the table through the QR code”.

At dinner time my favourite meal to have is the Black Bean and Sweetcorn Burrito with chips it’s delicious!.

In the afternoon me and Shannon take it in turns to use the pot wash, where I was shown how to use it by the chef. The first time using the pot wash I struggled but I was supported by Sophie. If I need any guidance I ask the chefs and they will support me.

I have met most of the Molino Lounge staff who have been very supportive since joining.

I am going to start my travel training to become independent ready for when I move into Future Finders next year.

After finishing placement I then head back to college with Shannon and Sophie and begin to write up my Weekly Diary where we explain what tasks we have been doing through the day on placement.
