Harry Potter Day at NBC

On arriving at the College today, the students were met by the ‘Sorting Hat’! The hat belonged to Godric Gryffindor and was enchanted by all four founders: Godric Gryffindor, Salazar Slytherin, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Helga Hufflepuff.

Today, the enchanted hat used the brains and personality of the founders, enabling it to use legilimency to look into the minds of students and staff and determine their Houses!

SH - 17.10.25

Throughout the day, students participated in Harry Potter themed activities such as searching for Dobby, decorating cakes and biscuits, and enjoying some scenes from the Harry Potter movies.

Within Photography Enrichment, Mia edited her very own magical photo.

As a special treat, the Lumenus students visited each class performing some Harry Potter inspired shorts.

A magical experience to end a wonderful week here at New Bridge College

Enterprise Update - Wonder – Student Company

Our student company, Wonder, has made fantastic progress this term. Students worked collaboratively to agree on the company name and design a creative logo that reflects the brand’s identity.

In groups, they developed a range of engaging slogans to capture the spirit of Wonder and what it stands for. To bring everything together, the team held a formal board meeting where they finalised the company’s mission statement, core values, and key goals. This process encouraged teamwork, communication, and decision-making—skills that are essential for success in business and beyond.

Wonder is a student-run publishing company producing books with meaningful moral stories designed to inspire and encourage reading and writing. The team is currently looking for anyone interested in writing a short story to be part of this exciting project. If you’d like to get involved, please let Mr Lancaster know.

Living Skills – Healthy Living

The Digital groups have started their Friday mornings with dedicated gym sessions as part of their Living Skills lessons, focusing on fitness, confidence, and teamwork. Students worked in small groups, supporting and motivating one another throughout the session. Harley had access to a new piece of equipment that enabled him to fully participate alongside his fellow Digital team members. All students showed excellent effort, determination, and a positive attitude towards physical activity and personal wellbeing.
