Britain’s / New Bridge College’s Got Talent
This week, I have had the pleasure of spending a lot of time with students and staff across the Campus and it has been brilliant. Following last week’s Roald Dahl Day, one of our new Digit4ll students. Liam, shared with me a character he designed taking inspiration from Sir Quentin Blake...
Haiden, also a new student in Digit4ll, has hit the ground running with the image edit work he has been doing this week. I'm sure you will agree, he is showing early signs of being a pioneering image editor...

Today, the second-round auditions took place for the new college band and what amazing musical acts they were! Our very own Tisha and Leanne enjoyed judging the performances and, as you can see, couldn’t resist swaying along!
Watch this space as we will be sharing with you our new band very, very soon...

Activ8
The start of the year has been nothing short of action-packed for our incredible Activ8 students! With a range of activities designed to develop both physical skills and leadership qualities, the group has embraced every challenge with enthusiasm, teamwork, and plenty of competitive spirit.
Our early sessions with Mr Lawrence focused on inclusive sports, giving every student the chance to get involved, regardless of ability or experience. These sessions weren’t just about playing games—they were about understanding how to adapt sports so that everyone could participate and enjoy.
Students demonstrated impressive knowledge, quickly applying strategies and showing a strong sense of empathy and fairness. That said, it’s fair to say that once the games got going, things got competitive—in the best way! The energy was high, the teamwork was strong, and there were plenty of moments where students stepped up to support their peers.
Next, the focus shifted toward sports leadership under the guidance of Mr Holinworth. Activ8 students began developing their communication, teamwork, and planning skills—essential traits for anyone stepping into a leadership role in sport.
Whether it was running warm-ups, giving instructions, or motivating their peers, students took their roles seriously. A key focus was effective communication, and it was fantastic to see the group grow in confidence, learning how to speak clearly, listen actively, and adapt their approach for different situations.
To round out a diverse start to the year, the Activ8 team headed out for an outdoor education visit to the Science and Industry Museum. This trip gave students the chance to explore how science and innovation shape the world around us—a perfect complement to the physical and leadership-focused activities they’ve been doing.
From interactive exhibits to historical insights, the museum provided a rich, engaging experience. It also offered the chance for the team to reflect on how problem-solving, curiosity, and creativity are just as important in sport and leadership as they are in science and technology.
With such a strong start to the year, the bar is set high for what’s to come. The Activ8 team has already shown they’re more than up to the challenge—bringing energy, insight, and leadership to every session.
Here’s to an exciting term ahead!
Have a great weekend!

Digit4ll Update
The Digi year has kicked off again. We are two classes, and the old guard welcomed the new students and showed them the ropes.
The students have been mixing together to brainstorm ideas for this year’s main product. Currently groups are working together to create a plan for a product.
Groups are researching products to make, sell and how they will price the products when finished.
It is great to see the students make new friends and meet up with old friends working hard together.
Watch this space over the next few weeks as the final product gets chosen and then put into production.
During this week’s English lesson, both groups visited Oldham Library, with many students becoming members and taking books/graphic novels out...
