Since returning from the summer holidays, we’ve settled into our new classroom beautifully. It’s now bright and colourful, decorated with our artwork. In English Writing, students have been practising their handwriting—writing their first and last names, their addresses, and tracing over lines and shapes. Others have been focusing on developing their fine and gross motor skills. We've had fun exploring busy boards, solving jigsaw puzzles, and engaging in messy but enjoyable mark-making activities. Everyone has worked hard and made great progress!

In Maths, we’ve been developing our number and money skills by matching coins to their written values and the other way around. We’ve become confident with this, and some of us are now working with amounts up to £2. Meanwhile, others have continued to strengthen their fine motor skills through activities like threading objects, completing geo peg tasks, and building with blocks.

During our cooking sessions, we’ve explored a variety of foods from around the world. Some of the delicious things we’ve made include salsa and raita, pain au chocolate, chocolate chip cookies, and pizza muffins. We’ve really enjoyed working with different ingredients—and didn’t mind getting a little messy along the way! At the end of each session, we used visual symbols and verbal communication to share whether we liked or disliked what we had made.

Well done everyone for our first term back. Some great progress has been made, and we are excited to see what next term brings.
