Learning Centre Blog - 24.10.25
It’s a spooky hello from me at the Learning Centre. Today students took part in Halloween activities alongside their normal routines, however costumes were far from normal. I’ve been scared a few times over; I’m definitely not a scary movie fan!
As part of creative arts this week, Miss Sheehy ran a pumpkin making competition. This could take any form, painting, collage, 3D., the choice was theirs! And boy did they embrace the theme. Here are the amazing entries:

I had the unenviable job of judging, I mean, where do you start. Entries were judged on 2 criteria, student participation & Creativity.
We had 3 runners up, these were
No 3 Community Living 5
No 10 Mrs Thornhill's class
No 11 Miss Millward's class
And the winner is…!
No 1 Mrs Keane’s class

Love the creativity guys, great effort from everyone!
Staff also entered the ‘spirit’ of things!
Even though staff and students may have been getting ready for the half term break, they have still been busy in class as evident as we can see from this week’s class blogs.
Mr Dawson's class continue with the artistic theme producing their own water lilies artwork, inspired by the artist Claude Monet. Loving the colours guys.
IB4 have been sharing what they’ve been up to in Living Skills and enrichment lessons. They have also joining in with whole learning Centre events such as McMillan Coffee morning, Harry Potter day and Mental Health Day. They have also embraced the Halloween theme!
Please do check out their blogs for the full story and pictures (There's even a video).
Have a great half term, whatever you may be doing, and we look forward to seeing everyone back safe and sound on 3rd November.
Take Care
Miss Allison
