Community Living 1
We've had an amazing start to the college year here in Community Living 1!
Here's a little taster of what we've been up to...
We've been learning about personal hygiene and we checked that we all brush thoroughly when cleaning our teeth.
We've also completed some learning about consent and the importance of listening and being able to make healthy choices.
Miss Hamner talked us through making a natural cleaning product that we might debut at the Christmas fair.
We chopped and peeled to add lemons and oranges to jars of vinegar and next week we'll see how they smell.
We'll put them in spray bottles and design a label for them.
We've been working on an artist called Auguste Herbin and produced some art work using shapes and colour which we mixed together to create beautiful pieces.
We then learnt that he lived in the 1940's and explored some popular music from that time. We danced along and learnt some dance moves from that era.
The students are all new to the Learning Centre but have settled in amazingly well and started to make new friendships across the centre.
Elaine and Kim are so happy to be with them guiding them on their journey as young adults at the Learning Centre.
