Learning Centre Blog (6.9.24)

I’d like to start by saying a huge thank you to all or students for the positive start they have all made this week.

To our year 13 & 14 students, well done for the way you have coped with the changes that have been made at the Learning Centre to accommodate our growing numbers and the warm welcome and support you have given to the year 12 students.

And to our new students, I’m so impressed by how you have adapted to a new building, new staff and new students, you have been amazing, I’m really looking forward to exciting times ahead.

I’d also like to say thank you to our wonderful staff team for their hard work in ensuring we were ready to welcome students on site on Wednesday and for helping our students settle so well.

This week, students have been class based, taking time to get to know their classmates and new staff teams. Tutor groups have been designing individual class displays, illustrating the New Bridge Behaviour principles, our 3 B’s...

Be Safe

Be Respectful

Be Ready to Learn

Classes are adding their own individual styles to their displays, here are just a few pictures and some words from tutors.

Employability Group

“The Employability group have all come back to college with a smile on their face and a positive attitude. They've all enjoyed the hols but are ready to start back at college. Jamie and Aiden have fitted in brilliantly and been made very welcome by the rest of the group.” (Miss Knox)

Here’s a short report from Mrs Brierly.

“We have had an amazing first week back in Community Living 4, the new students have settled in very quickly and there has been an amazing team feeling within the group. We are all looking forward to making new memories together.”

Here are a couple of pictures from Mrs Brierly’s class.

I’m looking forward to the final display guys.

And now an amazing display from our Entitlement Base 4 class.

“The students within Ebase4 have had a fantastic first couple of days and have settled in well. Students have helped to create the 3B’s display using different techniques and textures creating a Queen Bee sat on a flower”. (Miss Millward)

A striking and colourful display from Mrs Keane’s class.

Mrs Thornhill's class have also been working hard together to create an artistic Bee!

Mrs Curran's class have created an eye-catching display and will be adding their final lettering on Monday. Here’s a teaser of their display so far.

I’m looking forward to sharing the rest of our class displays next week.

I’m looking forward to getting to know all our amazing new students over the coming weeks and to being a part of their exciting journey with us.

Here’s to a fantastic new year!!

Have a great weekend!
