Mrs T's Blog (10.10.25)

We had a brilliant start to the week as we met with prospective candidates for the Sports Council. Like our School Council – the group are a mixture of students from school and have a variety of roles – from organisers to coaching and supporting others.

Alongside the PE team, I was able to take part in the interviews for the Council and ask some very interesting questions such as “who do you think is a good leader? ‘which prompted a variety of responses from Freddy Flintoff to staff in school and a few mentions of mums and dads.

We will be sharing our successful team in the up-and-coming blogs.

On Wednesday we had some other sports leaders in school – a group of up-and-coming graduate teachers who wanted to see what our school was about. It was lovely to hear some of the feedback “your students are lovely" and “everyone speaks in the corridors – students and staff". So lovely to hear this from people who come in and see what we do on a day to day basis.

I have been out and about again – watching lessons and today (Friday) I took part in an at lesson with 3NWK. The lesson was about printing with objects – with a final piece being created in the style of Frida Kahlo (Mrs Birch Hall’s favourite artist). It was amazing to all students engaged, working independently and remarkably – not a DROP of paint spilled. At the end of the session, the class produced a beautiful piece, of patterns around Frieda’s head. Amazing.

That’s it for me this week. On Sunday I’m off to see my youngest daughter run the Manchester Half Marathon for Dr Kershaw’s.

Have a great weekend

Stay safe
