Mrs T's Blog (17.10.25)
I can’t believe we are nearly at the end of Autumn 1. The autumn is a time of settling down, leaving the old year behind (and for some of our year 7 students – leaving their school and friends behind) and beginning again.
Autumn 2 will be a busy time, especially as we move into the Christmas period and the fun and excitement that comes with it.
This week – I have been out and about watching some more amazing work – this time with year 8 – in PE. 8 SCS have been learning about the FUNdamentals of movement – namely agility, balance and coordination. In their dodgeball lesson, they have been using lots of these skills and ‘weaving' them into throwing skills (co-ordination), moving fast and slow (agility) and balance through catching balls on the move and getting ready to move again. When I was teaching, I loved developing these skills and it’s safe to say – 8 SCS demonstrated them beautifully this week with Mr Jenkins.
I was delighted in watching the students demonstrate brilliant understanding of the game, tactics – attack and defence, as well as teamwork, independent learning and developing new skills.

Last week in my blog – I also forget to mention the amazing Harry Potter day that we celebrated – which was simply magical. The pictures were just brilliant. Thanks to Mrs Robinson and the team.
Next week we will be showcasing the amazing work from this term – plus some celebratory blogs about our Destination Champions who actually work in our school.
This week – our blog pictures have been posted from 8ELD – making some Victorian lanterns, cooking and taking part in some watery experiments. Key Stage 4 have staged their very own ‘Come Dine with Me'. 8SJN have been working on our B’s and produced some amazing art work, based on the work of Claude Monet and AB have been cooking. Our blogs really make my week as they showcase our amazing students and their work.
That’s it for me.
Have a great weekend and wrap up – Autumn is upon us.
Stay safe.
