Visitors Blog
Over the last 2 weeks at Roman Road, we’ve had lots and lots of visitors. Two weeks ago, we greeted colleagues from Apple who were able to see the amazing work our students complete using their iPADS.
Alongside Clare John (our CEO), Mr Lyons and Mr Bright, we were able to talk about the work we’ve been doing, showcase our films which moved us towards becoming an Apple Distinguished school and, most importantly, have an opportunity to see our students learn.
We were able to look at Mr Garry’s lesson on internet safety, see Mrs Holland’s class follow instructions on the ipad to create some interesting pieces, plus finally watching and hearing some of our AB learners create, shape and perform music with Mr Thompson.
All in all, a brilliant visit.
This week, we welcomed some other visitors into all the New Bridge Schools (the Learning Centre,
At this time I am unable to share details of this visit – but what I am able to share is a brilliant picture of our Sports Council and a few of our Key Stage 3 and 4 learners who were able to voice what it’s like to be a student at New Bridge.
Please watch this space...
And finally, today, at the end of a very long week we have been able to welcome JD Sports to our school. J
D have invited some of our older students to take part in a North West Conference – JD UP - which looks at careers in the retail industry – including media, buying, merchandising and the JD Gyms.
We watched the JD Christmas advert which focused on family (with lots of famous faces) as well as short clip of what’s to come on the day.
The students met with Abby and Brad from JD who told gave us a really good insight into the conference in Manchester at the end of the month.
That’s it for me.
I just want to mention our amazing students who have been brilliant this week and were honest and open with our visitors.
And finally, our fabulous staff team who work so tirelessly for the best outcomes for our students.
Thank you.
Have a brilliant weekend and rest.
Stay safe
