Wonderful End to a Fantastic Half-Term
As we reach the end of another busy and successful half-term, I would like to take this opportunity to thank every student and member of staff for their commitment, resilience and hard work over the past few weeks.
This half-term has been filled with lots of personal achievements, enrichment activities and countless moments that have showcased the incredible spirit of New Bridge College. Our students continue to demonstrate determination, kindness and a willingness to challenge themselves; whether in the classroom, during work-related learning or through the many opportunities that take place beyond the curriculum.
I would also like to recognise the dedication of our staff team. Every day, staff go above and beyond to support our students, creating engaging learning experiences and ensuring that every young person is given the opportunity to thrive. The progress our students make would not be possible without their professionalism, care and unwavering commitment.
A special mention must go to everyone for their efforts today in supporting Wear It Pink Day and raising awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It was wonderful to see so many students and staff wearing pink and taking part in activities to show their support for such an important cause. Events like these demonstrate the compassion and sense of community that make our College such a special place. By coming together to support breast cancer awareness, we have not only helped raise awareness but have also shown solidarity with those who have been affected by breast cancer, whether personally or through family and friends. Thank you to everyone who contributed, participated and helped make the day such a success.
As we head into the half-term break, I encourage everyone to take some well-earned time to rest, recharge and enjoy time with family and friends. I look forward to welcoming you all back next half-term and building on the many successes we have already achieved this year.
Thank you once again for everything you have contributed this half-term. I am incredibly proud to be part of such a supportive, caring and hardworking College community.
Please do have a wonderful half-term break.

A Fantastic Start to the New Term in English
It has been a busy and positive start to the new academic year in English, with students showing fantastic engagement, enthusiasm and progress in their learning.
We began the term by completing BKSB assessments, helping us to recognise students’ achievements, identify areas for development and set individual targets as they continue to build their English skills.
Our first topic, Everyday Heroes, has encouraged students to think about the people who inspire them and the qualities that make someone a hero. Through a range of engaging activities, students have been developing their reading and writing skills while exploring inspirational individuals and sharing their own ideas.
We have also enjoyed some fantastic celebrations this term! Harry Potter Day was a huge success, with students taking part in themed English lessons, using their imagination and creativity to produce magical pieces of writing. We have also celebrated Black History Month, providing opportunities for students to explore important achievements, inspirational figures and the contributions of Black people throughout history.
Another exciting development has been the introduction of our new reading programme, Everybody Reads. The programme has been trialed with a group of students and has already received a really positive response. It has been wonderful to see students engaging with reading and developing their confidence. We are now looking forward to rolling out the programme across the rest of the college in the coming weeks.
Overall, it has been a brilliant start to the term! Students have approached their English lessons with positive attitudes, growing confidence and a willingness to challenge themselves. We are incredibly proud of the progress being made and look forward to building on these successes throughout the year.
Well done to all our students for such a fantastic start!
