New Bridge Pathways Blog - 13.9.24

A Great Week

Wow!... what a great week we have had here at New Bridge Pathways! It has been the first full week of timetabled sessions and the rhythm and routine of our new academic year is starting to take shape nicely…

Community Living

It has been great to see CLGen settling in well into the routine at Pathways!

Digi 1

What an absolute fabulous first full week at Pathways Digi 1 have had.  Students have embraced the pathways school ethos and excelled in their learning.  The highlights of the week were from Food technology where we were looking at hygiene and used the UV light to see how clean (or dirty) our hands were and in Learning for Life where we were discussing emotions and played emotions bingo.  Keep it up Digi 1!

Lumenus

The new additions to Lumenus have settled in really well, they are a lively bunch that will definitely fit the bill to become the new drama queens of Lumenus!

This week there has been a lot of team building exercises. They are a very talented bunch both myself and miss Sinclair are looking forward to showing off our new recruits and their talents in our further performances.

About Me – Mr Mckeown

"My name is Mr Mckeown and I am the Headteacher of New Bridge Pathways. I extremely enjoy working alongside pupils, students and staff, and also the wider community of Oldham; ensuring that we all work together to be the best that we can be, succeed and we really make a vital difference. Providing outstanding education and enhancing pupil and student experience are areas in which I feel extremely passionate about.

I am passionate Liverpool FC fan and my love for football and my team began when I watched the 1986 FA Cup final. It was a Merseyside derby between Liverpool and Everton and Liverpool won 3-1! Sticking with the ‘80s’, growing up as child throughout the 80s I listened to Duran-Duran, A-ha, Wham and Queen. I ran home from school to catch (most days the end of) Master of the Universe, Thundercats or Transformers and the movies I loved watching on VHS included Ghostbusters, Police Academy, E.T, Tron and one of my favourites The Goonies! To this date, I still dive into some 80s nostalgia at least once a day. This includes listening to music, watching movies or wearing my synthetic shell suit!"
