New Bridge School – ‘Back at it’ Blog
And just like that, Christmas is over, and we are back to work here at New Bridge.
Happy New Year everyone. I am sure 2024 is going to be jam packed with so much activity here at the Roman Road site.
We really did finish the Autumn term with a ‘bang‘ and it was fabulous to see our children bounce back into school on Monday morning.
The site team have been incredibly busy over the break and although all the decorations were down in time for twelfth night – the school looked lovely and clean, ready for the term ahead.
And what ‘s that going to bring? Already we have lots of events planned and although this term is quite short (6 weeks and then 5 to Easter) it’s going to be busy. Already we are looking at transition for some of our children to the Pathways building and for our year 11 ‘s to the Learning Centre and New Bridge College. We have lots of information events and coffee mornings to make sure our young people are ready for the next stage of their journey.
We also begin to think about our new 6 /7 students who will be joining us in September 24.
So much to think about!
Spring term is about new beginnings, but unfortunately – this term also brings us bad weather. The forecast next week is looking particularly cold and there is a chance of snow. I have spoken this week to the Oldham Transport team. Any communication to families will be done through our normal routes of text messages (Parent App), social media and our answering machine . We will try to ensure we do this as early as possible to prevent any disruption. Whilst we want to keep to routine as much as possible – its sometimes out of our hands. Please make sure school has all emergency contacts for our children. Of course, not all our children come from the Oldham area so I am including the numbers of our other local authorities
Bury Transport 0161 253 6968
Rochdale Transport 01706647474
Tameside Transport 0161 342 3205/3691
Oldham Transport 0161 770 3209
Manchester Transport 0161 219 6400
My blog this week is short but I am sharing with you all some of the fabulous work that’s been going on this week at school.
Stay safe
