Welcome back
A huge welcome back to all our students, staff, families and carers. What an amazing first week we’ve had, starting with two packed days of training and preparation for the week ahead.
Thursday is one of my FAVOURITE days of the year when our New Bridge family is reunited. Our year 8 and 9 students bounced through the front , back and side door and it was delightful to see them returning . In addition, we welcomed our newest students - year 7. There were some tears (which is fine) from children and from families , but those soon disappeared and by today we’ve had smiles, laughter and already some children telling me what their favourite part of the day was (although for one young man it was pizza at lunch time !!!)
September is happy new year for us (a bit like January - but slightly warmer) and whilst it’s an exciting start to the term, it’s also filled with lots of anxieties and stress. So for our families to understand what’s going on at school - we are developing our lines of communications from school to home. We will be sending out information around this next week and briefing our staff. Our normal platforms - Arbor and Parent Pay will stay the same - but we will be sharing with you how and when we are going to communicate with families and carers and ensuring everyone cerebrate success, progress and any issues can be dealt with by appropriate staff teams.
There’s a LOT to pack in and take in, so my blog this week is short and sweet!
Have a great weekend (the sun is supposed to come out!)
Stay safe
Mrs T
