New Bridge School Blog Post - 23.10.2026

I can't believe we've already reached the end of Autumn 1!

The past eight weeks have flown by, and so much has happened. This week alone, we've seen some fantastic teaching and learning taking place across the school. Mrs Lenge and I had the pleasure of watching a wonderful Year 8 swimming lesson, where students took part in a range of activities focused on kicking, movement in the water and developing their swimming skills. It was also lovely to see them demonstrating excellent communication, teamwork and listening skills throughout the session.

It really is the best part of my job.

Next half term promises to be just as busy. Although it's only six weeks long, we have so much to fit in... and no, I'm not going to mention the 'C' word in October!

Looking ahead to next week, we have our holiday club running, and I'm sure our blogs will soon be filled with brilliant photos of students and staff having fun together.

During the break, two of the biggest celebrations of the year take place: Halloween and Bonfire Night. This week, I've been reminding our young people about the importance of staying safe during the festivities. It is so important that everyone enjoys themselves responsibly and returns to us safe and sound.

That's it from me for this half term.

I would like to wish all our young people, families and carers a wonderful and well-deserved break. To my staff team, thank you for all your hard work, dedication and support this term. You have been brilliant.

Stay safe and take care.

Mrs T x
