Celebrate good times!
Today has been a magnificent day here at New Bridge.
We have celebrated our students moving onto pastures new.
Main body kicked off the day with their Record of Achievement, including PowerPoints, filming, poetry and some really funny stories about our year 9 classes.
It was amazing to look back and see how our year 7 ‘s, who arrived at the same time as I did ( 3 years ago ), have grown into exceptional young people who we know – will continue their journey to Pathways with success.
I was also amazed at the number of events and opportunities the young people had experienced – from Euro Disney to trips to Costa, sporting and arts events, plus the amazing academic progress they have made.
Mr Flanagan was the Master of Ceremonies, doing a sterling job.
Today ‘s ceremony has been a culmination of the hard work of Jack and his wonderful team over the past 3 years.
Next up was our Autism Base – presented by Miss Anglin. The AB team spoke about how the year 11 students have progressed and they will continue their journey to the E base at the Learning Centre.
The AB team spoke so passionately about their students – about how they had developed and grown – not just physically, but also in terms of their learning and ability to cope with the world.
Thank you to Toni and her team. We also need to include a ‘shout out' to Clare Shields – who began this journey with students and families.
Finally, came our Interactive Base who presented a beautiful showcase of photos, songs and poetry which really did sum up how wonderful our students are.
At this point, I have to say – I really don’t think there was a dry eye in the theatre!!! Mr Jackson and the team talked about how – our students have grown, changed and how they have been such a brilliant group. It’s been our privilege to have been part of their lives. Thanks to Nick and his team.
We are so so lucky to have been part of all our students journeys and on days, like today – I think we forget how fortunate we are.

We have 5 more days to the end of the academic year and next week is going to be incredibly busy as although it’s the end of one year – we begin planning for the next.
I'm really hoping that England bring football home. My prediction is a 2-1 win for England (obviously).
Let’s hope this happens.
That’s it for me.
Have a fab weekend.
Stay safe
