Pre Internship (NBC)

The best way to predict your future, is to create it.

Curriculum Vision

Within the Pre- Internship pathway, we are aiming to prepare our students with the transferable skills to move further along the educational path to Bridging the gap or Future Finders, with the prospect to leave into gainful employment.

As a college, we offer Supported Internships 2 days a week with a Job Coach and the remainder of learning is class-based.

The balanced nature of the provision empowers our students to experience and gain valuable insight into the world of work whilst within the safety and stability of the College campus and staff team.

Placements at New Bridge College

We have 5 available placements that the students can access.

These are everyday work situations in the community that provide extraordinary experiences for our students.

The placements are handpicked and matched to ensure that both the student and the placement gain the maximum out of each other.

The students rotate around placements so that there is a well rounded and balanced learning curriculum on offer.

Job Coaches provide supervision in the first instance and then by stepping back to allow the student to develop the skills learnt independently this allows the student to grow in confidence and aptitude.

The classroom-based education element is what underpins our overall curriculum offer and gives our students the confidence to take their learning into the placement and vice versa.

These comprise of Employability lessons (which is the theory side to everything learnt on placement) English, Maths, IT, RHSE, and Life-skills.

On a Friday afternoon, the College enjoys enrichment sessions in which the students participate in an activity of their choice from a full range of choices.

Going on placement has improved my confidence. I get on very well with the people who work there.
